[Esd-l] Periodic problem with a specific user....

Hello All,

New poster here, so please be gentle....

I recently inherited a procmail / sendmail setup, and am having a
periodic problem with a specific user's e-mail attachments getting
mangled beyond usability.

I seem to have problems with this user. When he sends it to my work
e-mail, it will not open in Word 2000 (or in any compatibility modes).
When he sends the exact same e-mail to my outside / personal (an ISP
running Redhat Linux, home workstation running Win2K, Office2K -and to
AT&T Broadband) account, I can open the file just fine.

I suspect (but don't know for sure) there is something "unique" going on
with the procmail defanging criteria, but only with this combination of
sender / data. All other instances of Procmail's functionality seem to
be working as expected.

I have started perusing through the html-trap.procmail file (WOW).

Am I overlooking something really obvious (and probably simple)?

Are there any known problems with the Sender's use of Mac / Word
Attachments / AOL?

Thanks,

Jim
