Looks are deceiving. An inch and a half (or quarter) would put the objective bell up against the front end of the existing mount. With a GG&G mount, the scope will be at least a half-inch higher than it is now. Problem is, I need to make sure that the GG&G mount will attach to the Picatinny rail on top. It only has two notches fore and aft, and the rings in that picture are as far back as they'll go.
My bookcases are CD racks bought mail-order. They're oak. I drilled new mounting holes so the shelves would adjust to the proper height for paperbacks! :)
I'd take you up on that but I already got ARMS mounts on my 30mm aimpoint. :) What about a LaRue rail adapter?
It adds height and can go either way:

Two things: (1) That LaRue adapter doesn't look like it'll mate up with the spacing of the LRB mount, and (2) I don't need QD rings if the base is QD.
Oh, and (3): I'd like to keep the scope as low as I can. Where it is heightwise now is good, but to come back another inch-plus it's going to have to come up a little bit.
How long have you been a dealer? I bought it almost a year ago.

This may be the prettiest post on TSM.
Sweet!
Beautiful piece of engineering art.
Shoot well, and enjoy.
Oooh… Pretty…
That is one nice looking rifle. I'm looking forward to the range report.
"The scope needs to come back about another inch, inch-and-a-half."
How would that be possible. Just eyeballing it, it doesn't seem like there's enough clearance.
Any chance you are going to suppress that bad boy? That would rock.
No, no can.
Definately want to hear about that stock.
To second Ed: independent of the rings, it doesn't look like that scope can be moved back an inch and a half.

The stock is McMillan
Me wants!
Now, not to change the subject completely, but your bookcases look just like mine. Teak, with adjustable shelves, made by Jespers, right?

It appears I spent a bit more than I needed to!
I have an M1A that needs glass. What make/model of scope is that?
Leupold Mk. 4 LR/T M1, 4.5-14X50mm with the TMR reticle. I bought it here a while back.
I'd suggest contacting LaRue about it. They may have another mount that'll work and their CS is usually great.

OOOOH!
Me like.
Mjöllnir V2.0?
Prettiest Post? then you have to name that rifle "Jenna Jameson" 'cuz that is gun pron fer shure...
Have you seen Jenna lately? (*shudder*)
No. But I guess it's an occupational hazard. Its the only porn star I could think of.
I can always get you set up with a new Nightforce scope at dealer pricing :)
Actually, I bought a Nightforce 5.5-22x50 for this gun, but I liked it so much I put it on my Remington 700 5R. The Leupold came off the Remington.
That's one purty rifle you got there! Just looking at yours makes me rue the day I got rid of my M1A. Now I've got a hankering for another. Damn.
Ah snap, you shoulda bought it from me, I could have saved you a fair bit of money.
