I'm going down to D.C. to protest this tomo, but if they havent heard us up to now, I'm afraid tomo wont make a difference. But something must be done...
I see those who would press their claim to rule, those who would accept the claim, and those who reject it. When has it ever been otherwise?
If this act of medico-economic tyranny passes, the fight, this war they have declared against the will and Constitution of the People moves from Congress to the courts, and if the courts fail us, then our government will unanimous in its own de-facto illegitimacy, for the consent of the people in this matter, if it could ever have been said to exist (An assertion I contest, given enumeration of powers!), has clearly been withdrawn.
They toy with war on the people, moving towards our doorstep one flouncy, smiley faced goose step at a time, to the applause and accolades of the ignorant and blind.
For today, however, reviewing Locke's "Treatises of Government Book 2" seems topical. A convenient online copy can be found here: http://www.lonang.com/exlibris/locke/index.html, or here: http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/7370
We are SUPPOSED to be a Republic, not a democracy. Democracies devolve into oligarchies. A Republic, if we can keep it (ht Ben Franklin), can be self perpetuating, if (and only if) the voters are moral and elect moral men.
When men choose to use governments to take property from one to give it to another they are not making a moral choice.
We have a morality (and cultural) problem, which allowed the oligarchy the control whihc they are now exercising.
Unless and until we make decisions which Jonathan Gullible or John Galt would make - operating in concert with their thinking - we will remain sheeple to be dominated.
What really frightens me, is that the current group to occupy Washington, plays these games, knowing full well, that China is planning much pain for us. For example, I read this today:
China’s Gen. Chi described how China would rout the United States, kill from one-third to two-thirds of its population, and pass their property to new (Chinese) dwellers in the former USA
If you believe Robert Michels, organizations devolve into oligarchies. It's been a long time since I read Political Parties, but I remember the Iron Law of Oligarchy.

Solzhenitsyn's words are far too prophetic
Capitulating side? I see no capitulation.

Someone told me that the Pentagon doesn't worry about terrorists, it worries about China and Congress.
"From dependence back into bondage."
…on March 21, 2010.
I disagree, Ed. Today was the step from apathy into full dependence. Bondage will be along shortly.
Rob,
Democracies devolve into oligarchies.
If you are alluding to Plato, what he said was that democracies devolve into tyranny. It was aristocracies that devolve into oligarchies.
If you believe Robert Michels, organizations devolve into oligarchies. It's been a long time since I read Political Parties, but I remember the Iron Law of Oligarchy.
