The problem is that obumble and the bottom-feeding scum that is the democrat party(with the help of the rinos) are hell-bent on bringing the wonders of California's broken government to the rest of the country.
I agree with Mastiff. The Libertarians sound like hippies here. The cry of the Libertarian should be "Lower taxes, less government, obey the Constitution as written!" In the Bay Area, the cry is "Legalize gay marriage, legalize marijuana, all religions are equal!"
Having grown up in Northern California (San Juquin Valley) and having gone to Cal Poly (San Louis Obispo) I can definately say that in the central valley and the conservative portions of the Coast, the Libertarians definately sound like Republicans.
In the bay area and in Santa Cruise they sond like hippies, I'll give yout that. But then again, in Santa Cruise EVERYBODY sounds like a hippy. ;-)
Amen. Sigh. I'd love to leave this hellhole, but my wife wouldn't. She'd be more unhappy out of CA than I am currently in, so we're not going anywhere for the time being. She did say though if the gun laws got really bad here, we'd move. (I know, to all you free staters, they're already really bad...)
BayAryan Libretarians - bah, they want Legalized Free Transit! or something. In Santa Cruze even the Republicans are hippies, dopesmokers anyhow - that's where I went to school.
I stay to fight, and because I don't know where else I'd rather be besides Hawaii. Maybe down in the Central Coast area where it's more conservative - but who will prevent the hordes of deranged SanFranciscans from rushing down the Peninsula when the next quake hits them (if there are any left)?
We have to make a stand at Hwy-92 and erect barricades to stop them. Shoot on Sight. I have a .30-40 Krag, just like in 1902 the Army shot looters...
Are you suggesting Oregon's citizens are less loopy than Californians?
I dunno juris, that one's probably pretty close...

Amen, and ain't it nice that we don't have it here?
Witness it brother!
Amen to that... :-)
AMEN! And I will get out of here, please God, in the next couple of years and hopefully just before the fecal matter lands on the breeze generator.

Five-by-fucking-five.
Being a California boy, I wouldn't say that the Libertarians sound like Republicans. They actually sound more like hippies, for the most part.
Granted, I could be getting a biased sample from my family...

It's hard to take them (us) seriously here.

A majority of us did vote for, and passed, propositions mandating the state balance the budget.
The legislature just ignored it. I can't wait to see if they ignore getting voted out of office next year.
Oh, and DirtChrashr, you and I are going to need a lot more ammo.
Ride Fast, that's one of the problems - we keep passing initiatives. One of the worst ideas the old progressives ever had.
My brother moved up to where he's in sight of the Oregon border. I keep telling him he stopped 20 miles short.
