Geez. Only yesterday, I had an extra few minutes and stopped into Sportsman's Warehouse to just see what they had (I was "hoping"--because that's all I have left anymore--to find either small or large rifle primers).

They had some .223--which they were pretty proud of--but little else.

I left empty-handed, but I guess my instincts to buy ammo in the 3rd-week in Nov. somehow bubbled up. Maybe we'll see the day when one could walk into a shop and see a selection of just about anything he'd like to buy.

Do components count? How about 1000 168gr Nosler CC?

I've been monitoring the ammo shelves of WalMart the last couple of months. For the last two weeks I've seen some 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 SIG start appearing.

I've been puzzled that there has continued to be plenty of supply when it comes to shotgun ammunition.

Did shotgun sales spike the way centerfire rifles did when the Firearms Salesman of the Year hit the scene? I don't remember.

Mostly "Dove & Quail" loads or light target loads. Not loads suitable for home/self-defense.

Home defense shotguns, yes. Double-barreled field guns, not so much.

100 rounds of Winchester 7.62X39, 200 rounds of PMC 5.56 and 25 00 buck.

Our local merchant 'o doom has plenty of stuff, from 9 mm, .40, .45 .380 as well as all manner if rifley goodness. And that's in Buffalo NY. Maybe we have supply because there are so few gun owners?

BTW, is today DuToit's birthday? I miss his presence on the net.

I bought a brick of 9mm, does that count?

...more like afford.

The local Fleet Farm has been stocking 9mm, 40S&W, and .45ACP range rounds. Not always a brand, bullet weight, or shell material I'd prefer, but beggars and choosers you know.

And I've seen this week after week for the last couple of months. The first time I was on my motorcycle, noticed the ammo on the shelves, texted friends and took orders, and dragged out about 800 rounds that filled my saddle bags to bulging. I've been stopping in about once a week, amassed about 800 rounds of 9mm and about 1K rounds of 40S&W, and been too busy to shoot any of it.

No primers, though. I've seen shotgun primers, and a handful of small rifle primers, but no handgun primers of any kind.
