These fools in government have one thing and only one thing in mind------to remain in elected office at any cost.
And they are fools (not really intelligent individuals).
They have no understanding of liberty. Couldn't even define the term.
The BIG problem lies in the fact that the people who elect and then re-elect these fools are themselves also----fools. And the rest of us pay for this.
I don't know that this is so bad; sometimes any direction is better than no direction. Is more taxes the way out for California? Probably not, but I don't know that anyone can say that it certainly will not work (just probably won't). Besides, if nothing else then them taking action leaves a clear trail for the voters to consider next cycle.
Actually, part of the problem in California is that the Democrats don't have enough control. The budget requires a 2/3rds vote in the legislature which allows the Repubs to hamstring the process. We actually NEED the Dems to over-reach and prove the abject failure of their approach to governance.
Of course it would help if the Repubs offered ANY kind of opposition rather than simple opportunism.
