Ramirez is consistently funny. And a talented artist, something a lot of leftist cartoonists can't claim. Of course I've missed the brilliant Cox & Forkum since they went dark.
I see the media is wasting no time trying to destroy her too, even if all they have is unsubstantiated bullshit.
Because she almost swung it.
Think what she'll be like in 4 years. Think of the crowds of bitter clingers.
Better run her back to Alaska fast, or else the Chosen One might not win re-election.
While We the People suffered angst, agita, wailing, and gnashing of teeth throughout this entire godforsaken two-year campaign, Sarah seemed positively cheerful, like she was having the time of her life on the campaign trail. This despite the fact that she was in the eye of the storm and the target of some of the worst personal attacks I have ever seen. BDS paled in comparison to PDS.
I'm an atheist and an evolutionist, but for some strange reason, I don't feel the least bit threatened by her faith and value system. Go figure.
The people who have tried and are trying to destroy her are on my permanent shit list. I won't forget.
rick - you are right to not feel threatened. "Evangelical" is a bogey man code-word used to frighten other Liberals into the pack-herd of solidarity - and in my experience growing-up on the Left side of the church pew as an American Baptist I was taught they are scary. But in my adult life and direct dealings with them I discovered to my surprise they're not a bunch of gimlet-eyed Puritanical window-peepers who want to impose a Theocracy upon everybody - their religion doesn't work that way, their Theocracy (and they're happy with it) already exists UP in Heaven. Much of it is derided as weird notions that give them strength - while people who believe in Crystal divination, UFO's and Herbal Colonic euphorias are given a pass...
Yeh, so it's all "Invisible Friends" stuff to a lot of people who feel that they have a morally superior and more scientific nonreligious eschatology - whatever.
Puritans actually were aligned as the most Liberal and "progressive" of their day, and their social-punishments completely benign compared to what the King's Men were prepared to inflict - the stake, drawing-and-quartering, the rack, etc.

There's a saying along the lines "We have met the Enemy and He is Us".
The GOPs slogan should be "We have met the Enemy and We became Him."
Heh... come to think of it, with Bob Barr as its candidate, the Libertarian Party could use the same slogan.
Ooooh yeah...NOW he wants to cozy up to the base.
After taking us for granted to the point of "bipartisaning" away our 1st and 2nd Amendment civil liberties.
Let me put it more succinctly:
"Get LOST, ace! The only thing we have to thank you for in your political life is your selection of Sarah Palin."
Sarah Palin
And I see the media is wasting no time trying to destroy her too, even if all they have is unsubstantiated bullshit.
One thing I learned is that the Media really is the enemy.

Oh, this is even worse than that...it's McCain staffers looking for anyone to blame but their own candidate and Fox News you know, the alleged PR branch of the Republican Party aiding and abetting them.
The Dem leadership apparently feels much the same way about Joe Lieberman - now that they have a bigger majority.
I love Sarah, and I'm not the only one.

That elephant needs to pick up its left foot, move it over to the left, and drop it sharply. And that would be a good start.
Dude,
That cartoon is hysterical.
