Well...to be fair, the point in the first case was that Bush won two elections that were squeakers. Obama won by 200 electoral votes and like 7%, more than double Dubya's best margin.
So suggesting the two are the same (Obama's election and Dubya's) won't hold much water.
That said...yeah this country is far from united. But that's not news to anyone.
