Since they are so absolutely full of themselves I tend to believe them when they say it, because they are exactly stupid enough, and obviously crazy enough to have let their angry and incoherent emotions bleed them dry intellectually and spiritually. That's where their kind of Wars and Revelucion come from - because they can’t win any other way, like Islamists they embrace the big No-Win of suicidalism. Keep your powder dry.

i hadn't noticed. i noticed your post, and that prompted my response. now, having read that article, i'll go out on a limb and say that it does raise valid points. the author loses credibility (w/ me, anyway) when she says, 'He promises to cut taxes for 95 percent of American workers and ease the burden for millions of families. And I believe him, ...'. she believes him, so she already drank the koolaid (probably drank it before he even announced candidacy, and she's just been waiting around ever since).
moving on, i have no recollection of the 60s, largely because i was not there; however, i was 18 in 1992, some friends had been to some other friend's dad's house (and i know this verges on 'friend-of-a-friend' urban legend territory - i apologize) where this grizzled old bastard has stockpiled all this hardware that i am not legally allowed to own, and i seriously doubt he was either. when asked what was the point, he was 'gettin' ready for the nigger war.' that quote stuck w/ me.
2007: my boss comes back from the home of one of his contractors, and he's just going on and on about all these badass guns the guy has. i affect my best drunken southern accent and ask, "is he gettin' ready for the nigger war?" apparently, that's exactly what the guy said. this isn't some fringe doofus, it's a successful business-owning adult, maybe right around 40 years old.
i suppose my point is that, while you may not have heard about it in a while, that story is still out there, and people are still buying in to it. maybe it all comes back to the aforementioned 'company we've kept,' and i just hang out w/ a bunch of shitheads, but there is definitely an audience ready to eat this shit up and ask for seconds.

We had freaking anarchists "come" (I say that in quotes because I don't believe they had to travel very far) to downtown Palo Alto for criminysake! For reference imagine this: young Thurston Howell III and Luvvy dressed in "Anarchique" from a chic French boutique in the Hamptons - that's the Palo Alto equivalent, where the median home sale price for 2006 was more than $1.3 Million. Anyhow, so it's The Anarchist Parade! Like the Reconnaissance Faire, only different! This was their VACATION riot, before School started again. A bunch of rich white asshole kids dressed in black t-shirts and hoodies - and they broke windows and set things on fire! They won't join the army to release their tensions and inadequacies but they will go to College and march for vague "anti-capitalist" sentiments that fulfill that urge - and try to impress anarchy-chicks and get laid. And they're flat-out stoopid, as illustrated by one protester reported saying, "Like a bank shouldn't be able to control your money and how you use it - and everything like that." Huh???
They're essentially the same kids who go to work the next day in the same broken-window coffee shop - but no NOT REALLY - these are kids who DON'T even have to WORK and never have! Destruction is easy when it's just stuff your old man buys and replaces every few years anyhow, no big deal and You shouldn't get hung-up on materialistic things, dude. Yeh, easy for you to say when you didn't work for a damn thing that you have or wear. Essentially they broke their Dad's shop windows - but no NOT REALLY - it's the building THEIR DAD owns, and rents to "some guy" who's trying to have a business: a Capitalist Pig! An OPPRESSOR!
