Geez, all you need are some pregnancies mired in conspiracy, and the new BSG becomes a militaristic outer-space soap opera.
Dorky as it was, I much prefer the old BSG, where everyone -- except for the worst scoundrels -- were loyal to mankind. Maybe not all that realistic, but a lot more enjoyable to watch.
Uh oh... Well, I own Galactica 1980 on DVD, but I wouldn't say it's spent a lot of time in the player. Round about the episode where they bring the space scouts to Earth for a camping trip I checked out. Do I pass anyway? ;)
Mark -- Oh, yeah, the show had a lot of do-gooder themes. The baseball camp for underprivileged kids, stopping industrial pollution, the immigrant farmer stuff. It's like the new BSG is the evil, goateed, alternate-universe version of the old show.
"evil, goateed, alternate-universe version of the old show."
Now here is a true fan!!

Kevin, have you caught up to the current season yet?
I can't believe we have to wait until Jan for the final 10.
Yup. Should be an interesting conclusion!

I love the old BSG too...the whole aliens-Egyptian thing...and Athena and Cassiopia...yummy :)
Mark,
I dug the whole LDS-Egyptian thing, myself.
The women in the old BSG were a lot more feminine and attractive. And don't forget about Serina!
I haven't a CLUE what you are talking about. I don't know whether to be proud or not (i.e. I don't know what I don't know), but I find it fascinating.
Serina was wonderful...and of course let's not forget Lorne Greene.
OK, Sarah, here's the real test of a die hard fan...what do you think about...
GALACTICA 1980!!!!

So much confusion and crap here.
Does anyone know what happened to Daggit? Such a nice robopup.
I need a cup of Starbucks after this.
Oh yeah, you pass. I don't even own the DVDs! On my wish list, though and I do have the original series and all of the new ones.
Loved the flying motor cycles and the EP where they helped the immigrant workers :)

I think I have been defeated.
