I got the same letter. Haven't decided how to reply yet, but I'll work up something suitable.
I also got a call from the McCain campaign Thursday morning. After thanking me for my past support of John McCain (she don't know me very well, do she? [/bugsbunny]) and reading the rest of the spiel in one breath, the caller asked if I would contribute $150 or $100 if that would be better for me.
I said, "No, I will not. I think it's a shame the Republicans decided not to put up a candidate this year," and hung up the phone.
I got the same letter. I think Fred must have turned over his donor list, because he is the only candidate that I have ever given any money to. I was considering sending one of your bumper sticker but since you are maybe I'll just fill up the envelope with washers and send that :)
Oh, BTW have you guys received the big envelop with the picture of John and Cindy. They act like it is something I am going to frame and put on the wall. Idiots.
I just finished reading an article on McCain's position on screwball worming over at the The American Spectator. It has a paragraph that I think is a contender for a quote of the day:
"From time to time I get a fund-raising letter from McCain, which starts out with the sentence, "The choice America will face in November is very clear." It could be damn site clearer if McCain would quit chasing after left-wing fantasies like global warming."

Thank you, very well said.
I got the same letter in the mail. I thought pretty much what you wrote in your reply, and I tossed it in the rubbish bin.
If Thompson had won the nomination, I would have pulled out my checkbook.
I would love to see their faces when they see that bumper sticker! :)
SWEET!
I'll rummage through my junkmail pile and do the same. :)

Extra points for the reference to a 400 dollar vacuum cleaner.

Heheh. Excellent use for one of those stickers.
My letter came today. I'm going to have to lift large portions of that for my response.
+1 to the Matt "Fred turned over his list." Fred is the only campaign I've ever donated to.
Yep, same here.
Obama will be a disaster! McCain won't be much, if any, better. McCain is the lesser of two evils, but he's still evil!
I drove ten miles to vote in the Republican primary only to find out there wasn't a Republican primary in my county.
I will vote for Dr. Ron Paul even if it voids my entire ballot.
The RNP can collectively pucker up and kiss my backside.

That's going to leave a mark. At least it would if that idiot paid any attention to what's going on around the funeral for his party.
I got the Mccain and Cindy photo. My first thought was, "if this is how they spend their funds, no wonder we have a deficit".
Your response was spot on. And the bumper sticker rounded it out perfectly!
Please let us know if there's a response. :D
