Dude. It's SATURDAY. I didn't get to Tam's until the sun was WELL over the yardarm, either- too much to do that couldn't be accomplished from the keyboard.

+1 on Jeremy and LabRat. I read you every day that I can, sometimes coming back multiple times to catch up on comment threads. I don't drop by Tam's anymore at all. I got tired of the pointless sarcasm and condescension.

Regarding South Ossetia:

I'm going to tell you that the Russians not only don't care about collateral damage, but that they are purposely bombing and randomly raping, murdering, looting, etc. Why? Because they have to make everyone in the world know that they are the toughest guys on the block. After getting whipped in Afghanistan and bogging down in the Chechnya fiasco a few years ago, they've got something to prove. To the Chinese, to citizens and governments of all of the ex-Soviet Empire, and to the USA. They will use their re-acquisition of their old reputation for brutality and the massive overuse of force to obtain any political advantage possible. Innocent civilians? They see it as a positive virtue in the game of Realpolitik.

Normally, I'd say this were true of just about anyone...save Olbermann.

If someone were to see that his head is held underwater for several minutes, without a respite for breath, I'd not think too poorly of the individual responsible.

Seriously, hearing Olbermann say anything grates on my nerves, what with all the condescension and pompous finger-wagging bullshit that he just feels he must go on about...all the effing time.

Someone, please get that guy in the unemployment line.
