I agree with Unix-Jedi. These stories are obviously false because Tim Lambert has repeatedly assured us that self-defence is legally protected and A-OK in the UK.
A government that denies its citizens the right of self-defense, even with the natural tools of the human body, has an obligation to be absolutely perfect in its own provision of security from assault.
A government that does not do so, as Britain manifestly does not, has broken the social contract and is nothing more than the biggest gang on the block.
The natural result of this kind of incident is that the police will no longer be called. The mob will decide a fit punishment for this kind of yob. Civil society will continue to break down, sowing the seeds for fascism. My prediction for once Great Britain.
So really there's only two choices. If you are attacked and defend yourself, and "witnesses" can't say who's who - then you should, 1.) Accuse the attacker of being the attackee so THEY go to jail, or 2.) kill the attacker and carry off the body to be hidden.
Go with #2 since prison sentencing in England is so light, you'll only do a slap on the wrist few months and be out anyhow.
I think it's time you took on Lambert again on this. I've been over there for a while frolicking with the lefties. Sorta fun, sorta not.
Anyway, the best part of that is that in the face of criminal assault that the British authorities recommend neither active self defense nor simply taking the abuse like a man, but instead actually recommend cowering and groveling.
The stiff upper lip has been replaced with sniveling. How long can the Brits stand us pointing and laughing before they do something about it? There's got to be a backlash eventually.
I think it's time you took on Lambert again on this.
I think not.
As Heinlein said of visiting Russia: "Once is educational. Twice is masochism."
I'm fully over the urge to pound my head against a cinderblock wall because it feels so good when I stop.
But hey, be my guest!

My comments not fit for public display, sorry!
I quite understand!
Kevin:
How, HOW, *HOW* many times does Lambert have to tell you you're full of shit on this before it settles in!
Self-defence is *not* against the law in England!
Lambert says so! And ignores your examples of other cases! They're just isolated cases! All of them! All of the many of them!
Why would you not learn from Lambert?
Why won't you listen?!?!!

Well you have to understand, this wasn't self-defense, this was a citiz... err, subject "taking the law into his own hands."
Can't have THAT.
"However, if we rolled up in a ball, it would be quite clear who the victim was."
It's even easier than that; come back an hour later, and the victim is the one with the chalk line around their body.

Ah, the Christmas Story approach!
"Randy lay there on the ground like a slug-it was his only defense."

Dirtcrasher: You missed option 3. Walk away. If you get caught later, claim you were robbing the perp.
...and why does no one in the UK have a problem with all this? Why aren't they changing things? Unbelievable!
S^3!
Kristopher, that is correct but the sense satisfaction is absent and the Perp will continue in his ways.
The people who laughed in Hitler's face through the blitz are now told to curl up in a ball if a mugger attacks them. How utterly shameful.
I weep for England, and hope that someday they can grow their collective balls back.
