No, dear Nancy, 55% of suicides in the U.S. are by firearm. Yet, regardless of the fact that the U.S. has something on the order of 280 million privately owned firearms, we rank fifth out of the G8 "industrialized" nations for suicide. It's not that "serious" a number.

The sad part is that whoever wrote the original copy probably believed it as it was written.
