The more I read Scalia's opinion, the more I like it. We all hoped for something better (as in, if I'm gonna dream, I'm gonna do it well), but his opinion is more and better than I expected. What Scalia has done is: 1) make the decision as broad as he could, i.e. just narrow enough to get the majority he needed; 2) anticipate the coming fights over the remaining issues by providing the ammo needed to win them; and, 3) eviscerate the dissenting opinions on the Court in advance of those coming fights. This is a legacy he'll be proud of.
Here's another article (with some comments from Free Republic) analyzing the decision. The author is Alan Korwin, and he is ecstatic about the opinion.

Good overview. I'm still in the process of reading the opinion, but I agree that it came out better than expected.
