Heck, SCOTUS handed down a nice slap to an overreaching prosecutor, too. A guy was convicted of "using" a gun in a transaction involving him trying to buy the gun for drugs; this got him an extra 5 years. 'Justice Souter bluntly wrote, "The government's position that Watson 'used' the pistol ... by receiving it for narcotics lacks authority in either precedent or regular English."'
The case was Watson v. United States, the link is http://wap.foxnews.proteus.com/index.php?page=content&contentId=1947369&contentPage=11
From strength to strength, keep going! Great stuff. I don't post to comments, but I read your essays and posts regularly and they help me learn and understand. Wonderful stuff.
Sorry I missed it yesterday, Kevin, but congrats. I'm only on my second year solo, but fifth year blogging total, so I know what a long, strange trip it's been as well...
"Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you.
Happy BIR-R-R-R-R-RTh day dear Kevin,
Happy Birthday to you."
Okay, I've got the hang of writing frequently. And I've learned how to write Kevin-length posts. I'm now watching my mail box anxiously, waiting for Lesson #3: "How to seem to know what you're talking about."

Congrats Kevin. And I also have to say thanks for the free ice cream!
