Being a compassionate kind of guy, I think these guys should be able to reduce their sentence through community service.
Something like trolling for IED's in Iraq by driving an unarmored Yugo around with a loud speaker blaring an Arabic version of "U Can't Touch This". Interspersed with a translated line from The Warriors: "Jihadi's, come out and play! Jiiihaadis, come out an plaaa ay!!"
That or going in ahead of the EOD guys in Afghanistan to clear mine fields. Blindfolded. Using metal probes. With random RF signal generators on their backs.
1.5 million rounds in two weeks and we can't get a decent price on .223?! Crank out more dangit! Where is the gov't inefficiency that produces WAY too much and has to flood the market?
"Don't expect them to actually get 30 years. That's a hell of an opening bid, but the US Atty will plea this out at considerably less."
Unfortunately probably true, given that people like Jane Fonda and William Ayers are walking around free instead of rotting in a Fed pen (or in a grave better yet), But we can hope.
I was thinking that 750k per week wasn't that much, when I can express my ammo stockpile in whole number percentages (very low ones, admittedly, but still whole numbers) of such a factory...
The punishment should fit the crime .... big time & being posted to Iraq & sent out on point with say an empty GPMG should shall we say errrrrrrr drive home the message
In order to relieve the Government of the cost of incarceration I volunteer to keep them in my basement and feed them. Only I don't have a basement. they'll have to dig one. And I don't have any food for them, they'll have to subsist on nuts and berries like the birds and squirrels, and old persimmons that fall over the fence. There will be NO cable tv either.
Yes, they get the first EOD job. And all the others, as long as they live.

Gosh, they should've just said they were protesting the war.
Then, the government couldn't touch them, much like those feral traitors who stood in front of trucks so that war supplies couldn't get to Iraq.
Nah. Give 'em a souvenir of their little prank. One each. Delivered at something like 2800 feet per second or the next one's free.

Eh.
Send them to Iraq, hand them a rifle, but never let them have ammo.

1.5 million rounds of 7.62 NATO.
It's enough to make a man cry...
Regards,

Uh, yeah, 7.62. Thinking one thing and writing another...bad me.

Considering that's the ammo for my son's primary weapon, I'm with sending the bastards out in front of the EOD people.
