I find they have consistent problems with assigning DNS settings- perhaps if you tried to statically set your DNS server (4.2.2.2 works pretty well).

FWIW: My D-Link Cable modem died about a month ago after a bunch of up and down nonsense.
The scary part was that it had a nasty ground fault -> Nasty shock when holding the modem to attach the cable.
New modem, no more down time and no shocks - yet...
Maybe they are only good for about 4 years?
