Let's see I have a BS, two Masters including a MBA and just finished a PhD in Information Systems. I designed computer software for 28 years and I drink wine at dinner but I hate brie. I guess hating brie makes me stupid also.

The conceit that proponents of a civil society that is formidably armed with militarily credible armaments are uneducated, unsophisticated and bent thinking in contrast to their enlightened selves is pretty central to our neo liberal opponents theory of identity.
Why is it that whenever someone claims to be "sophisticated" that I think of this line from "The Princess Bride"?

Whenever someone claims to be "sophisticated" in a context like this it seems that they think they are somehow better than all of previous humanity just because they were born in the current modern ere. Then because they're magically delicious, er, magically different than earlier humans they think they can ignore the lessons of history.
Funny thing, though. Whenever someone makes such a claim to "sophistication" as an excuse to ignore history, it always manages to prove to me that they're not "sophisticated," they're simply ignorant fools.
