"I had not realised how offensive the plain truth can be to the politically correct, how enraged they can be by its mere expression, and how deeply they detest the values and standards respected 50 years ago and which dinosaurs like me still believe in, God help us."

Guess I'm a dinosaur at the tender age of 34. Hey, do these scales and claws make me look fat?
There is no "statist right". According to the statist left, the statist right are fascists and socialists. Those two are of the left. It is a means by which they exclude, or attempt to exclude, "We The People". They try and keep the choice between Hitler and Stalin. America has proven there is another choice. It is typical behavior for the damned. Lie, lie, and when that doesn't work, lie.
I discovered Flashman in High School during the late 70's and enjoyed many good reads and some of his biographical books besides. Godspeed George. Political correctness is about denial, usually in the weasel circumlocutory jargon which distorts and evades and seldom stands up to honest analysis.

"Short of assassination there is little people can do when their political masters have forgotten the true meaning of the democracy of which they are forever prating, are determined to have their own way at all costs and hold public opinion in contempt."
Therein lies the importance of an armed citizenry, so that if our "masters" have forgotten their place we'll have more than just votes with which to fight back. Not only that, but simply owning and bearing arms reminds them of their place.

Don't feel bad, I'm often told that I am in fact hopeless outdated and not even 19 yet.
