I liked Freds answer too. They didnt really allow many of them to respond to that question, especially not Ron Paul. Hell, they barely even noticed Ron Paul was on stage the whole night!
More Ron Paul and Fred is what we all need to see and hear...the others are clowns.
I thought Cooper said, "does anyone else *NOT* own a gun." Guiliani raised his hand, Romney said he had two guns in his house, both belonging to his son." Implying that all the others did own guns. I think. (just watched it again... that is what happened.)
He's a Constitutionalist/Bircher crank who learned that if you repeat the words "no initiataion of the first use of force", big "L" libertarians will vote for you.
The only thing he has going for him is his constitutionalist views. Everything else about him is worthless.
Unfortunately I can't remember which Republican senator is credited with saying it, but I like his answer to how many guns he had, along the lines of "more than I need, less than I want."
I like how Hunter worked in the eco-angle. Nice pander there, pal. "I used to pick up the shells behind my dad, the mighty quail hunter."
Most greenies wouldn't know a quail if it crapped on them, so little chance of an outcry of "Bambi killer", and he must have saved the Earth from destruction many times over with his enviro-conscious shell collecting.

I believe that was teh Fred!. Thompson has his flaws, but he'll be the one I pull the lever for. I just hope he makes it that far.
Well, Huckabee, not that I like him all that much, was purportedly the first govener to get a CCW, so I presume he owns at least a pistol, but I'm pretty sure it was asked "how else does NOT own a gun" Thompson had the best answer.
Could Phil Graham have said the "more than I need, less than I want" comment? Sounds like a TX Aggie answer (WHOOP!)

That was Dick Armey, former US Representative from Texas
Reminds me of the quesiton put to GWB and Kerry during the 2004 election, as to their favorite gun. Bush said a Weatherby Athena 12ga (good choice), while Fuckface turned it into some token bullshit (an AK47 which saved his life, or some such nonsense, and which turned out to be illegal to own in his home state).
Gawd, I'd hate someone in the Press to ask me that question. I can't even decide on a favorite HANDGUN...

I like the answer, safe, admits to it without scaring the soccer mom vote. . . I just wish I thought he had a chance.
There's a long way to go yet. I'll give him a few more months before ruling him out as a contender.
I don't own any, and I'm a big gun-rights advocate. :)
I just figured Ron Paul would announce he owned a Ma Deuce.
Paul ain't a libertarian.

DAYUM!!! That quote made me look at Thompson in a whole new light! He knows what the 2A is really about!
And has said so, in print, on several occasions.
But the MSM doesn't consider him a contender, so you don't hear about it. Nor much else he says or writes.

I didn't see the debate, what did Tancredo say?
My personal answer would have been: "If I had know you were going to ask that question, I would have gone out a bought a few."
I used to work for a gun dealer that had close ties to Ron Paul and his campaigns. Rep. Paul is definately a gun owner.
The quote in question is from the Patriot and former Senator from Georgia, Zell Miller.

I cannot speak for libertarian, opr Ron paul - but ot owning agun is as much a right as owning a gun - though it seems a bit odd he does not own one..
