Lucky! I hope you have better luck with this one. ;-) Funny you should mention having troubles with the slightly-used Kimber Eclipse...Tam was telling me that about 20 percent of the Kimbers she had seen, had some kind of issue. I hope your luck's better with this one, and as good as mine. I'll be taking the 10mm Stainless Target II out in the morning with a new load. It's eaten all my reloads so far like candy. There's been some raging debate on The High Road about Kimber and other modern 1911 makers of late...I guess I just got some good ones.
Kevin, I have the Ultra Carry II (non CDP) and that is my carry gun. Very accurate for such a short gun. I used to carry a Colt Commander and I much prefer the Kimber. I think you will be happy.
Oh I forgot to mention. A few week ago I went to take it apart for cleaning and the spring plunger assembly fell apart. The horse shoe shaped thing at the back of the assembly came unscrewed. I suggest you put some locktite on it. Same for the over travel screw in the trigger.
Never mind. I don't like you any more. I'm taking you off my blogroll and tearing up my Kevin Baker Fan Club Official Membership Card (I'm keeping the cool little secret decoder ring though).
Jealousy sucks, man.
And I just left another comment talking about how sweet that thing is.
AN Ultra CDP II was on my shopping list for a while, until I managed to run into a Yost customized Colt Defender for $700 out the door.
Trust me on this one, the pistol handles much better with a magwell on i. I have a SMith and Alexander integrated magwell and mainspring housing on mine. $60 and infinitely more comfortable to shoot.
You have a winner there. I love mine. No issues at all, ever. Mine wasn't quite as free as yours, though. I had to give up $700 for mine, NIB from a dealer. Still not bad for a $1200 pistol. Someone liked me that day.
You may want to find some smooth wood stocks though. I found the checkered stocks to be quite uncomfortable.

It's gorgeous. I have a serious case of envy. Congrats.

They shoot nice too. Expect 1 ragged hole type groups from a clipful at 15 and 25 yards
R U Kidding me? Wait till you shoot that baby, it will be your ccw piece from here on out.
BTW if it is up for sale ask me first....
(No, it's not for sale. But I've got this Eclipse Pro II....)

Nope. I have a long history of non-involvement with women who don't have sisters. It has saved me much confusion.

Okay, what is "carry melt"?
A rounding of all the (normally) sharp edges so the pistol won't snag on anything.
Lucky Dog.
Something else may happen as well. Always in threes, right?
Well, I guess this is maybe making up for the recalcitrant Eclipse instead.
Regardless, enjoy.
Congratulations, the only thing I ever won was the draft lottery
That's great!! Have fun with it.

You lucky bastard. Congratulations!
Shiny!
As they say in NASCAR, you're the lucky dog. ;-)
Just for your information, I've downgraded my condition from "boiling jealousy" to "seething".
I'm happy for your luck Kevin.
You work very hard keeping us informed on the state of fight to maintain our RTKBA.
Your prize is certainly well deserved.
Congratulations.
Awesome! ... and Congratulations.
She's beautiful.
Congrats.
