Go back and read Bush's speeches prior to the invasion of Iraq. You might be surprised. Besides, I thought the Leftist narrative wasn't that Saddam had ties to Al Qaeda, it was because Saddam had WMD. Remember?
But then, that's characteristic of the Left. Keep moving the goal posts.
Who said Iraq was a peaceful, pastoral wonderland? Watch Michael Moore's Farenheit 9/11 - if your stomach is strong enough.

Ah, yes!
That sacred leftist narrative, whose lynchpin is lies, distortion and obfuscation.
Just be careful because I see a lot of people on the right do similar things (everything is fine in Iraq, Bush has made all the right decisions, etc).
Of course, I subscribe to the "lips moving = lying" school of thought ;)
The Left, near as I can tell, never argued that Saddam wasn't a horrible dictator.
They argued that he had no ties to Al Quaeda, which was the rationale GWBush used to go into Iraq.
Who the heck is saying that Iraq was a peaceful, pastoral wonderland?
