Short question: How did the plain English of the Constitution get so corrupted? It seems to me that the phrase "shall not be infringed" doesn't leave much wriggle room. I tend to rant from time to time about the various abuses of the English Language, but I've found myself wondering quite often how such a simple sentence as that of the 2nd Amendment could be so heavily abused.
As someone who actually understands the somewhat mystical process that is followed by Constitutional 'Scholars,' can you explain to an ignorant layman how this is justified, and how it came to be? This process of theirs seems to be trampling rather heavily on my Bill of Rights.
" The regulation should be allowed so long as it is rationally related to achieving a legitimate government purpose. "
So, if I may take that exact same logic and apply it to something else, say, if the government no longer thinks it wise for its "citizens" to copulate, since controlling this little bit is so "reasonable" because the governmetn "needs" to control the population, since the government welfare scheme is going to be so overwhelmed with so many mouths to feed.
Sounds so perfectly "reasonable", doesn't it, Mr. Chemerinsky.
Why do I feel like reaching for the rope, right now, and running out the door?
Quite correct. Tells you how much I care for Mr. Dylan's voice, though.

Beautiful.
Wonderfully done.

"The court in Emerson performed a thorough "strict scrutiny" examination the law under question,"
I've read the Emerson decision, and IMO, while they said they were going to apply strict scrutiny, if that was strict scrutiny I'll eat my hat.
Once again, well done, sir.
Brett:
You want salt or ketchup on that hat?
Reloading equipment: Dillon.
Singer/songwriter: Dylan.
This has been a test of the Emergency Nitpick System. Had there been a real nit to pick, way more people than just me would have pointed it out.
