most will hold off as long as they can and then when they can't hold off any longer, then "Budapest" and no one shed one god damn tear for all those what got hung. There just won't be any Russian tanks here. I think the army would sit it out. Too many of us with them.
One thing that really makes me chuckle is the same types that deride the real meaning of the 2nd Amendment, constantly wring their hands about that piddling insurgency in Iraq. They whine that an armed populace could never fight against a modern army but doesn't the situation in Iraq prove them wrong? Because when it gets down to brass tacks, one does not fight the army as much as they fight the people that support that army. The Left in this country doesn't have the guts for an out and out fight and when it is time to give them a belly full, they will fold like a cheap tent.
Very few people will 'take a stand' and try to go head to head with the troops. The ones that do will die.
Most will opt for 'insurgency' with a fair amount of 'voting from the rooftops'. And they won't be aiming for troops - they'll be doing 'rooftop recalls'.
Why do you think Diane Feinstein and her ilk are so concerned about the armored-limousine-penetrating capabilities of the .50BMG?

"you start hating the government", she says?
Yep, and one thing leads to another, and the next thing you know you're in the CIA, passing military secrets to Al Qaeda via the New York Times.
What? That's not what she meant?

I think Sam summed it up best.
