There is the reality of the final effect to the whole experience for the little bird, right as the video ends. *splat* of the ground coming up to meet it.
remains of the forest that the Kiwi had to strip to build its dreamworld, and all the creatures whose habitats had been destroyed in the pursuit of that dream.
The first thing that struck me as it ended was how you're supposed to think "Aw... how sweet", but they conveniently cut away before the bird goes "splat".
Clearly the animator thought it was just _great_ that the bird is able to fulfill his DREAM... of plummeting to his death. Awww... huh?
Since you don't see what happens at the very end, you get to create that part in your own mind. You can choose "Splat" for the ending, or whatever you like. I choose for a snowbank, or a lake, or maybe a cartoon trampoline to safely arrest his fall. Then I imagine him climbing back to the top to do it again. Given a choice between a happy ending and a sad one, I choose the happy endings every time...
Play it again. Just after the screen goes black, you hear the impact.
