This completely smacks of a certain scene from UC.
Life imitating art here.
You are correct, something will happen and the peril is going to be put squarely on one or more of the uniforms. This is unfortunate, as I am sure this will be what the left is, has, always been looking for; the perfect excuse to go after the rest of us.
I was not aware of this story (shocker, MSM), thanks for spreading the word.
I am thoroughly disgusted, but not entirely surprised. Nor do I think much effective resistance will be displayed -- more's the pity. The first time somebody kills a cop in one of these raids will be a signal to the GFWs to escalate. Next they'll be authorizing snipers to take out all occupants of a targeted structure.
::sigh::
I've long maintained that the very existence of BATF is unconstitutional, but nobody'll listen. Where is it in the Constitution that the Federal Government is granted sovereign police powers? Point to the provision. But NOOOOoooo. And this report is a perfect illustration as to WHY it's wrong on so many levels. A federal police force is in effect an occupying army -- just what the Revolution was fought to rid us of.
I seem to recall a situation like this, drugs not guns, but similar set of circumstances. The setting was in Poway, Southern PRK around 1988-1990.
House fingered by well known drug abuser as being the source of drugs being sold on the street.
O-dark thirty raid on the house. Homeowner alseep. Wakes up to crashing doors, thunder of feet on stairs, stumbles half asleep to bedroom door where he is shot and killed. House thoroughly dis-assembled, no drugs or any other illegal contraband found.
As I said some time back, the government practices its really egregious oppressive acts on a strictly retail basis. It's very careful to keep its wholesale oppression level down to "still sufferable."

OOOPs, wrong house.
No accountability. No recourse.
why has the peril not already shifted?
Very few are pissed off enough...
Yet.

That's why there are so few Marvin Heemeyers out there.
And conscience doth make cowards of us all.
