One thing I like about Baen books is that they include CDs with some of their "library" in many of the books they publish. Similar to what you can get from Baen's online library of titles.

Title: Jim Baen’s Impact
Excerpt: I don’t know how to follow up with the sad news of Jim’s death other than to offer up a personal story, and how he ultimately affected my life. I guess it’s weird that I should be writing about how a science fiction publisher impact...

Uh, that's Posleen. Consider what happens when rednecks get their hands on anti-matter...
A copy (Jim Baen actively encouraged copying) of the Honorverse CD is currently in the drive of my work laptop for reading between data collection sessions.
Best eulogy I've seen comes from a mailing list for people who met at Baen's Bar: "He was a visionary in a time of small-minded bean-counters looking for a short-term payoff."
This is a sad day indeed...I've gone almost exclusively to Baen these days thanks to their online presence. I've read everything in the free library and bought a whole lot more...here's hoping that his successors can live up to the high standards Mr. Baen inspired.

I'm sorry to hear this.
I too am a big fan of Baen books.
The "Man Kzin Wars" ROCK!
I believe "Protector" was a Baen book as well.
I hope his company lives on..
