Funny stuff. Funny photo.
I met MANY soldiers on the range that have ACOG, Lazer, EOtech, Iron Sights, IR, night vision, lights, et, et, on their M4s...none of which are zeroed and most of which are mis-mounted. It was rare to find a zeroed weapon....and no range time was scheduled to zero weapons even if the troopers KNEW how to zero them.
Even a simple bipod, mis-mounted, makes any rifle shoot all over the place...especially the M16 and variants.
Vertical grips are cute..but useless except for the cuteness factor.
Disagree on the vertical grips. Sure, they're not necessary but they do allow you to pull the carbine tighter in the shoulder. They are useless on a rifle for anything other than close stuff.
Not just a bottle opener--it should have a compass too, so the shooter can know which way is north, thus being able to allow for the Earth's rotation on long-distance shots.
With all the gimcracks and gewgaws hanging off of that thing, if the shooter missed, he'd have to curl up and die...or press the "self-destruct" accessory.
Sweeeeet....I'm drooling like a dog in a locked car in the summertime.

What, no keychain?
If there's no bottle opener, what good is it?

But it is a pretty funny photo!
Is it just me or is there something pink and furry on the stock?
Didn't you ever see the Simpsons episode where Homer gets a gun? The gun *is* the bottle opener.
I suspect someone did that just to see if they could. I see three ACOGs and 2 aimpoints mounted, as well as the normal rifle scope.

Sling? You would need a fork lift truck to carry that plus the batteries around ...

Y'know... Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should do it...
I had - perhaps wrongly - assumed that this had been done to show the full range of accesories for this piece,
Wot? No drum magazine?
It looks like a Cheaper Than Dirt catalog.
The only thing it needs now is a periscope so he can see what the frick he's shootin' at.
Doesn't need a sling...I'm pretty sure there's a repulsorlift tucked in there somewheres.

Which button was that one again....?
Regards;
Does it make a decent cup of tea?
tomWright: Maybe that lense on top of the scope is the periscope.
"Does it make a decent cup of tea?"
From 500 meters!
I'd like to watch someone field strip that blindfolded...
Where's the bayonet?
"Where's the bayonet?"
That would make it an assault rifle, and those are evil.
(For my congress told me so...)
