My dad resolved rats problems in our basement once with a .22 SR pistol; another time with a 32ga. buckshot round. The third with a powerful spring-powered trap that nearly cut the rat in half. Those were fun times.

That has got to be the single most desparate and worst way I have ever heard of to get a 'piece of tail'.

This is also why I keep a .38 revolver with shot shells next to the SIG. The .177 pellets from the RWS CO2 rifle just annoy the raccoons, and picking up a so-called humane hav-a-hart covered in raccoon blood with a pissed off angry wounded critter in it is not my idea of healthy.
