"Of course, many Europeans would really, REALLY like to forget, and would be supremely happy if everyone else forgot all about it as well."
They'd be pleased as punch, I'm sure, if everyone just shut up and let Islam silently murder their whole continent.
They thought that the Nazis could be ignored or bargained with, too. This despite both Mein Kampf and the Koran call openly for their subjugation and/or extermination.
You want to see the mentality of a gun banner in full force? Just glance across the pond. It's a fundamental failure to recognize the nature of evil - the leftist lumping of predation and self-defense under the banner of "violence."
To pull out a weathered phrase: "Don't bother to examine a folly; ask only what it accomplishes."
What this folly accomplishes is clear: the innocent are murdered and preyed upon and the guilty roam the countryside with free reign. That's how it goes, whether we're talking about a whole continent or just one man, deprived by the state of the means to defend himself.
I always had an intellectual and theoretical distaste of NAZI's, until My wife and I had a little girl.
My wife's mother is Jewish, which makes my wife (a Christian by choice) and little girl (attends church with my wife) Jewish by NAZI definitions. Her grandfather got our in the late 20's. Much of the rest of the family tree ends at Auschwitz, Treblinka, etc.
Holding my newborn daughter one night watching the History channel it struck me, those bastards and their present day wanna be's would put my little girl into an oven? I don't think so Mo-Fo! NOW it's personal. And these days being a NAZI or Holocaust denier in my presence can be hazardous to your mental, emotional and/or physical well being.

Photos from the same museum. There is a slide show you can click on. The pictures are of officers and staff frolicing...there are no words...
Thanks for that link.
Surreal.
It's an important thing to remember; how we used to and ought to fight wars.
"The world should "prepare for the worst ... (which) is war"
-French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner
How quickly they forget, huh?
Of course, many Europeans would really, REALLY like to forget, and would be supremely happy if everyone else forgot all about it as well.
That anyone remembers Treblinka isn't good for their "self-esteem"
After Nazism and Bolshevism, how can anyone pretend that Europe represents the zenith of civilization?
When Europe gets held up to us as an example America should follow, in almost every instance I have to suppress the urge to slap gunleather.

To pull out another - ahem - weathered phrase, "Cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good."
Inspector:
Dead on.
