Interesting, we go there every summer for vacation. Nice place.

A quote came to mind as I read this. I have no idea where it originated:

"God made man, and God made woman, but Samuel Colt made them equal."

I believe Samuel Colt was the originator of that sales slogan, but it was originally: "God made men. Sam Colt made them equal." Or something like that.

"It doesn't matter if a killer has a gun or not."

Tomorrow night Texas will be executing it's 25th goblin of the year. The goblin, Joseph Lave, helped in the brutal murder of two 18 year olds, and the attempted murder of a third. The weapon of choice? A hammer. They bashed the kids heads in with a hammer, then slit their throats.

Good grief, the Legal procedures are pathetic tissue of restraint only against the good - and the so-called Police up there are held back by more policy-cowards iin the People's Bureaucracy of Canadaisy...

I can't resist some gallows humor... If the attacker had a gun, the victims would be more dead now!

That's apparently how some people think, Fabio. Thanks for making the point, gallows humor or not.

Or...

If he'd used a gun, it would have been a _terrible_ murder!

If you, or a loved one, are dying from an act of violence, you may want to consider telling 911 you, or the loved one, is having a "diabetic emergency". Throw in a few vague specifics, and than wait for the ambulance crew.

If you mention violence, of most any kind, police will stop the medics from arriving until they have "secured the scene". A method which can waste valuable minutes, or, as in a case like this, hours. Hours while you or your loved one bleeds to death.

And saying that police's procedure to secure a scene, and taking FIVE HOURS to do it, is acceptable... means it wasn't your loved one bleeding to death.
