Best caption so far: Mary Katharine Ham, "Hey, thanks capitalism! Now that I've made it, the rest of y'all enjoy socialism. Love, John Edwards."

Other than the whole ambulance chasing and hypocracy things, more power to him. I wouldn't mind one bit having a nice 100-200 yard target range off my back porch. :) And I bet I could drag a few deer out of those woods each year, too.

Of course, John Edwards really did make his fortune in a zero-sum game. So, I guess when you make your money by taking it from other people, I guess you sort of assume that's how everyone gets wealth.

I'm going to have to ask a buddy of mine, who's lawn was trampled to hell by newsreporters trying to get Edwards' home VP interviews, about this...

Now, far be it from me to suggest that Edwards cannot dispose of his cash as he sees fit...

But seriously, what the heck is he thinking?

Will he actually derive maximum benefit from that thing? Is he making use of it to put on lavish parties or something, that he needs all that space? Perhaps hosting his extended family on all sides, thrice a year?

I know families with 17 children (!) that couldn't use all that real estate.

Edwards has just created a gigantic money pit for himself. I hope it's worth it.

His money, his pit. But it makes it (even) less believable that he's concerned over the divide betweent the haves and the have-nots.

He's interested in power. Period.

"He's interested in power. Period."

Yes, as are all politicians, but it pisses me off all the more so when these sniveling leftists, who are self described as fighting the fight, "for the people," are obviously not concerned with practicing what they preach. They care only about how much fawning their dedicated fans throw their way.

Just sickening.

Yes, well, the communist elite had their dachas, too.

At least he hasn't said "I want to take those profits..."

Yet.

Damn, That thing is ugly. Forget what he claims his politics to be. I would be ashamed to show that place to my friends and associates and claim responsibility for it.

I live in a big house in a big city.

I buy expensive things and toss them when I'm done

SO

This gal in the glass house won't throw stones

BUT

did he really have to chop down THAT many trees?

Being that he is so sympathetic to us of the unwashed masses, I wonder if he wouldn't mind a few of us camping there and doing a little hunting? Since he is a socialist, isn't what his ours anyway? I wonder if he has a decent gun collection... urhm, I mean, we... we have a decent gun collection.
