Nope, it's gzipped. (I just used "wget -s" to see the raw data.)
However, many browsers know how to gunzip a file with mime type
application/x-gzip. There's a setting in Apache to report the correct
mime type, and this allows one to provide compressed HTML for faster
transfers. Alas, if one saves this to a file, the browser is likely to
leave the .gz extension in place on the decompressed file.
