John:
We seem to have a lot of interest in outgoing filtering.
I am working on a fairly generic outgoing filter setup that is derived
from the scheme we use here at VMIC. It doesn't deviate much from what
you have recommended in the past, but apparently what is wanted here is
more detail. I will include m4 templates, config files, a diagram of the
net topology in which the filtering relay host resides, and some
explanatory text. This is going to be specific to sendmail; I don't know
anything about other MTAs.
How ought I to post this? It will be a compressed tarball, probably less
than about 50K. I don't think we should post such attachments on this
list.
I can put it on our ftp site, but it purges files after about a week, and
as VMIC gets absorbed into GE-Fanuc, it may move or go away altogether
and the mail filtering might go away too ;_(
Any suggestions for a good way to publish? I should be ready in a few
days.
